Project: Burnt Victory (working title) - 2018/2019 Obsidian Theatre Playwrights Unit

Librettist, Co-Composer | In Development

This musical play explores the fight for Society and the fight for self as underrated Canadian legends Hugh & Beatrice Burnett strive to live an ordinary life while facing discriminatory challenges of their time. Set in the backdrop of rural Canadian black life, this triumphant musical explores the journey of a marriage as they contribute in passing Canada's 1954 fair accommodation act for the betterment of minorities in Canada.

Project: Easter Rebellion (working title) - 2018 Canada Council for The Arts

Librettist | In Development

A Caribbean operatic musical story about courage and fighting for what you believe in. This piece retells the story of Nanny: a trusted domestic Caribbean slave and Joseph: a free mulatto man of privilege, as they lead a team of multi plantation leaders to the historical 1816 revolt against the planters of Britain's beloved colony, Barbados. This is one of the largest slave rebellions in the Caribbean islands. This rebellion, years later, ultimately led to emancipation on the island, as part of a worldwide moral turnaround on slavery that happened throughout the nineteenth century.

Project: East End Lovelies - Concept Funk Orchestra

Lyricist, Lead Vocalist

The East End Lovelies was a touring concept band where I was lead lyricist and vocalist for a musical theatre concept styled funk band. In the initial launching of my practice in lyrics and song, I utilized this experience as a playground to merge non-traditional opera and theatrical elements with pop sound.
